Volunteer Opportunities & Responsibilities

BACN Volunteers promote the mission of BACN

Current volunteer opportunities:

Coordinator of Services – Connect Neighbors to resources.  Coordinators advocate for the needs of the neighbor and are responsible for meeting with neighbors requesting assistance.

Receptionist – Performs daily administrative tasks.  Greet and assist neighbors and guests upon entrance to the facilty.  Responsible for answering the phone, filing, copying , faxing, and scanning documents. 

Clothing Center –  Accept, sort, and display donations and assist shoppers in a welcoming, respectful, pleasant manner and pack selections made by shoppers

Food Pantry –Assist neighbors with pantry shopping as necessary in a welcoming, respectful, pleasant manner.  Tally and pack neighbor food orders and assist in stocking food pantry with inventory products.   

Food Pantry Stock – Stock pantry with items and keep storeroom organized

Computer Lab Assistant – Assists neighbors with the use of the computers, Microsoft programs, online forms and searches.  Trouble shoot basic printing and equipment problems.

Education Tutor – Supports the GED students

Truck Crew – Assist with the unloading of the delivery trucks

Building Maintenance

Special projects

REQUIREMENTS
Be of good character, good work ethics and a self-starter

Report on scheduled days in a timely manner in appropriate dress

Able to follow directions

Maintain cleanliness, sanitary conditions and appearance of the work area and facility

Able to perform physical duties, such as, lifting up to 50# and standing for long periods of time, if required

All potential volunteers must be at least 15 years of age and complete a volunteer application and orientation.
