PantryBACN is committed to providing high quality, innovative services to people residing in the Benzie and northern Manistee communities. Our services are provided through collaboration with key area human service agencies to best meet the needs of our neighbors.

We provide a wide range of community based services for individuals and families of all ages. In 2014, we assisted over 1,500 families with immediate aid.

  • Educational Opportunities Adult Basic Education &  WOW! Women on their Way!–a program to support women involved in post-HS education.

  • Food Pantry The pantry offers Neighbors an opportunity to shop for nutritious foods.  Neighbors can shop twice per month with BACN bucks based on family size.
  • Clothing Center Neighbors can shop in a safe, convenient center.  Families are asked to take what they need; keeping in mind that there are over 600 other Neighbors in need each month
  • Financial Assistance BACN offers financial assistance for critical human needs.  Assistance is per household per calendar year.  Other criteria may apply.
  • Volunteer Services
All Neighbors, including those receiving services, are welcome to volunteer at BACN.  BACN offers varied opportunities for all to serve.

2015 had many moments worth noting…and celebrating!

  • BACN was one of five finalists for Michigan’s Governor’s Service Awards in the category of Outstanding Volunteer Program
  • Expanded partnerships with the MSU Extension, Michigan Works!, Northwest Michigan Health Services, Inc., and Food Rescue. (These partnerships provided our Neighbors with cooking lessons, increased adult education opportunities, job-readiness training and access to more fresh fruits and vegetables!)
  • The completion of our 3-year strategic plan
  • The demolition and removal of the former unusable east wing of BACN’s facility, making our grounds ready for future improvements
  • Over 12,000 hours of service given to our Neighbors by over 125 volunteers. These are volunteers who enjoy being at BACN so much that they even come on their birthdays!
